Arctium, also known as burdock root, platomandila, bear herb, platomanidila (English: Burdock root, Bardana, Beggar's Buttons etc), is a genus of biennial plants commonly known as arctium lappa, of the Asteroid family. Arctium plants have dark green leaves that can reach up to 71 cm. They are generally large, thick and ovate, with the lowest of them being heart-shaped, and they are hairy underneath.
